Projects: From Arthur's Seat

From Arthur’s Seat Vol. 4

From Arthut’s Seat is the University of Edinburgh’s graduate student anthology of fiction and poetry. Its version of the MFA literary magazine, From Arthur’s Seat is the result of a partnership with independent publishers Eggbox Publishing. Every year the creative writing department produces a print book to be sold across independent bookshops in the U.K. As editor in chief of Volume 4, I oversaw the 2019 editorial staff through manuscript production, design, and marketing.

The fourth volume of From Arthur's Seat celebrates the beauty of the path less trodden. This ambitious new anthology includes short stories, poems, and excerpts by 28 writers from around the globe. Breaking with tradition, this edition is inspired by choose-your-own-adventure books and ingeniously links stories and poems together to form 10 secret, overarching narratives. The adventure begins...

"A true privilege... good writing can be taught, it can be learned, and the best students of writing craft know that the learning is never finished. This brilliant and multi-faceted anthology is only the first step."
-- Claire Askew, author of This Changes Things and All The Hidden Truths.
